The student-athletes from these illustrious institutions demonstrated tremendous skill and sportsmanship over two days of exciting competition. At the conclusion of the first round, the match was tight with the three teams separated by 13 shots. During day two, the United States Military Academy emerged victorious, finishing with a team score of 850, 14 under par. A special commendation goes to USMA Cadet John Heckel Jr., the tournament medalist, who delivered two spectacular rounds of 64 and 67, finishing on 13 under par, 131.
At the Collegiate-Am, the Naval Academy emerged victorious with a team score of 735. Gary Hendrickson, Chad Evans, Matt Kuntz and Navy player Chip Deegan led the way with a low gross of 60, with a sparkling back 9 of 26, to beat Matt Freitag, Adam Huddleston, Sean Hegarty and Army player Dragon Theam in a match of cards. Low net honors went to Jim Bruyette, Steve Mote, Jim Smith and Navy player Ben Valdez, who fired a score of 56.
